Stop in for a drink.

Hope ya'll are having a good weekend. Been a great kickback day so far for a change.

JUst got done chatting with Corsair Distillery. They used to make Ryemageddon that was exceptional. It's getting hard to come by. Come to find out they changed the bottle and didn't have room for that long of a name so they changed it to Dark Rye. LOL Same stuff, less abv but it brings out more cocoa flavors from the chocolate rye they use.

Iowa distilled Legendary Rye:
Ted and I just did a tasting between the off the shelf and the HV barrel pick. I am not to fancy with the tasting notes but the HV pick was darker colored (it spent longer in the barrel) and it was lighter and a bit more sweet. Much smoother I thought. I think I will contact Legendary and ask what the difference may be. If it is longer aging in the barrel I'm all for that. Most craft distilleries especially newer start ups, usually age in smaller barrels to get the same effect of a 53 gallon barrel like the big distilleries do in a shorter time frame. I feel the Hy Vee barrel pick is a good pick! (They are giving samples.) HV= Hy Vee Wine and Spirits, a regional grocery store chain that also sells wine/beer/ and spirits.

Swap ya for a Glenn Fargo! That looks yummy!

Just another fun filled day at work, nothing two fingers of Gibson's Finest can't help, OK, maybe two fingers times 2..................................or 3...........................

I was in the basement frig grabbing some yeast and stumbled onto 4 liters of homebrew that has been on ice since March I believe. I twisted the cap on the wheat and took a swig. Damn, way better than back in May when I first tried it. In fact back then it had a off flavor I didn't like. It's tasty now!!!! Even better with a slice of lemon.

Wow, I just looked at the date on the photos. Feb 29 2020 so the Witbier is 9 months old.
