67 twin turbo dart

*Update* Well the swapping injectors wasn't that easy lol oh well no big deal just had to back track the wires to the split, cut and resolder them back in the correct order, and covered them in heat shrink. Added slots to my overflow tank bolt holes so I can just loosen to remove the air filter on the pass. turbo easier. Sent my tune file to Matt at DIY and he helped me figure out why I had red, clicked on a output that already was assigned, but also upgraded my firmware to the newest one for the MS3 and there's alot more capability now with it. Still had a leak of coolant any the same bolt, pulled it, cleaned it and tried one more thing before getting alum-a-seal to put in it, filled the oil to 8qts, so when I prime I'll have enough for the cooler and filter, but have some more just in case. Want to get this leak fixed before I open the distributer hole to prime and not get water down inside. But we shall see.

Day two and no leaks yay, wanted to wait till I posted in case it cursed it lol. So yesterday went thorugh all the ic pipes and made sure the clamps were all tight, need to see if my coworkers charger/ jumper works on agm batteries, hoping to bring my optima back to life, so far holding 8 volts so I need the extra push it get it over the 10 volts for my regular battery charger to bring it back to full life, its a yellow top deep cycle.

Also pulled the cam sensor to see if I could get the cam gear out, put couldn't, so we I go to start it up this weekend I'll just disconnect the coils and shut off the fuel injection and just crank it to prime the oil.

Cool.... those batteries like to be AMPed up to around 40 amp for about 30 min. or so.. Kind of gets there hart started again... We use the Jump-N-Carry 660 on most of our jump start stuff.. We use a boat load of Odyssey Extreme Series. Once we get them about 6 volts then we can use a Smart Charger to top them off.
Just food for thought...
Prime away and let it sing !!!! Cheers

Yeah my coworker let me borrow his jumper at work, said it handed agm batteries, came home and just had to hit it twice with his jumper to get above 10 and put my charger on it and now its sitting at 12.8v. Saturday after we hang up our Christmas lights before the more snow hits us here will get the gear out and prime for Sunday fire up time.

Got the gear out finally and engine has been primed with oil, will double check level in the morning before we fire it up tomorrow, always nervous especially with this build, haven't built one like this before.

I can only imagine the nerves, post a video of you can.

Well that didn't work out so well today :(
Some reason my coils were not getting power off the fuse block, my ign 2 on the ignition wasnt getting power so wired that one to ign 1 with another wire. So we have good power now, fuel pump primed great, just probably in the programing but my cable from my laptop to the MS3X stopped connecting, tested the cable and it kept failing so I ordered a new one. So have to wait to get the new cable to recheck settings. Checked my phasing of the crank and cam sensors, those were good. Not to sure.

Matt - Did you double check the "Communication Settings"? That one bit me more than once. TunerStudio and my laptop would find my iphone's bluetooth and try to connect to that instead of the usb cable to the MS. This is what mine looks like now. This is on a macbook. Your Com Port settings are likely different if you use a Windows laptop.

Yep tried that many times, I have this cable and would try to unplug it and plug it back in which would help it work before. Exit out of the the program and go back in and everything, every time I ran a test port it wouldn't find my com3 I believe it is.

The com port likely changes every time you disconndect/reconnect the cable since it unloads/re-loads the driver. Might be com3, might be com2 or something else. Try this D2XX driver and the Detect option in the setup and see if it works. USB & WiFi Support

Thank you will give that a shot next time, have a new cable I posted the pic above just to eliminate that isn't the problem, maybe I kinked it one time, not sure.

Well got the new fuse panel put in, get rid of the relays and fuse blocks and went down to one. Ground wires will be here this week, was just also running the ground wires from the radiator fabs, heat exchanger fans, and intercooler pump to the MS3X to trigger them to come on. Also need to run the wire back to the second fuel pump too. But also but a ground cable from engine to rad support that had a bolt I could use.

Got the old set up for wiring pulled out, installed the new fine block, wired all the power outlets, wired all the new trigger to the rad fans, heat exchanger fans, IC pump and secondary fuel pump, will make sure those are set up on the board to when to be controlled to come on. Grounded the fuse block to both chassis and battery, and installed a engine ground from the head to the radiator support. During the week if I can or next weekend I'll go through and check all the signals and make sure its all getting back to the MS3 to work.

Looks really clean Matt! Since you did some re-wiring I would go thru the coil and injector tests again. Easy peace of mind. Just make sure you don't have power going to the fuel pump when you test injectors.

Thanks my friend, yeah I'll be going through everything this time, my primary fuel pump, I wired in a switch on the ground side so I can turn it off as needed, plus just prime the system and turn it off till the engine fires so its not a draw, so once fired just turn the fuel pump back on and drive.

Well got it all done and went to test and the laptop still wouldn't communicate with the MS3X, even tried searching for the com and nothing, new cable and all. So its off to DIY to have them check it all out not sure if something happened inside or what. So everything is on hold till I get it back. Will update when I hear from them.

ive always had issues with connection to tuner studio with my laptop using ms2 3.57. I usually unplug the usb and plug back in but it’s always doing it. Irritating. I thought it was my crap laptop and I had one usb cord go bad too. Interested in what DIY says. Yours sounds worse, like it won’t even connect once.

Yeah I use to do the same just unplug at the MS3 and plug back in and would connect. So not sure what's up with it, still haven't heard anything from them but they said it would be a bit since it was Christmas week. Going to be sending my versafueler in to just for a health check, figured might as well have both computers checked out. Hope both are fine or only need minor things.

Well my ECU is done and on its way back to me this is what they found:
The official notes are that they replaced the C10 capacitor and repaired a burnt trace between D10 and D12.
Not sure how it happened waiting for a response back. DIYautotune are such awesome people and so helpful. Versafueler is going to get sent out tomorrow but at least with the ECU back I can hopefully check out the cam and crank signals make sure they are good. Got a new voltage reducer from 12-5v got that installed already and a new cam position sensor just in case the 12v wiped out the one I had since it was suppose to be down to 6 but wasn't.

Found out that a voltage spike must have done it and the thought woke me up the other morning, I wired in my key on power for the old relay setup so that power was sent to the fuse box causing the spike, since that was the only part drawing power must have gone to it. So I'll find that wire and remove it from the fuse box, maybe run that wire to a inline fuse to power the innovation O2 sensors. Versafueler was sent out as well to have checked.
