Why not? I built a 383 on my sturdy kitchen table once... got four friends to come over with a chain and an eight foot 6x6 beam, and we carried it out to the car :D
Today I changed carb jets for what I really hope is the last time. Also cleaned the leaking oil from the right front corner of the pan/girdle/timing cover intersection and plastered the area with RTV silicone. Hope that will hold it until I feel like pulling the pan off again someday! :rolleyes:
