I'm thinking of running a power steering set up. I have never had an A body with power steering and I think people exaggerate when describing driving with manual steering.

I have a lot of power steering parts laying around so I'm thinking about the potential in the pile.

You'll probably have clearance issues with the pressure hose if you use a Saginaw on a 70-72 LA car. In the clear with the 73+ k-member. Either way def go with the Saginaw pump, you can even pull them off full-size GMs and trucks all the way up to the early 90s, only functional difference I've seen is the orientation of the return hose nipple. You'll still need the chrysler brackets though.

The assist is actually "too much" but some have had success shimming the valve to reduce assist.

I don't wanna see some guy's boobs. lol

You'll love the power steering....overboost is subjective to the driver. Personally I'm a fan of the ease it takes to drive and turn the wheel with no change in boost....but I am getting older. lol.
