NOT MINE - Hemi parts 392 others

331 vs 354. If I remember correctly the 331 Chrysler has a cast bellhousing that is cast as part of the block. It sticks out a few inches from the block, maybe 4 or 5. I remember this from helping a friend build a Dragster Chassis back in the late 50's.

The 53 331 had the integral bellhousing. All the rest were bolt on bellhousings. Mine is a 56 truck engine. They made both the 331 and 354 truck engines all the way to 1960.

Also noteworthy are what they call the "extended service" truck blocks. They are THICK. They can be bored WAY out. The 331 and 354 extended service blocks will bore easily to 4" most of the time. That's what mine is.
