I hadn't welded in 20 years I just got my Harbor Freight welder about 5 years ago and was upside down with about a foot of room to slip underneath the car LOL..
It may be ugly but it's held up nice through drag racing and wheelies and everything...
Making a little opening in the rear frame and sliding the metal inside of it I believe really made it extremely Superior to something bolted on or welded on the outside.. you can even see where I stitched it up against the floor as well..
