Buddys kid straight piped buddy’s duramax. Kid was all proud and bragging, and asked me if i liked it.
“If my truck sounded like that, i would get it fixed!”
I dont think he has talked to me since. Just as well.

The duramax sounds like **** anyway.

The power stroke has a real nice tone.

Do you like Cummins??

Well my 4.5 lly sounded good, I regret not putting a muffler on it. At first I loved it but the drone eventually got annoying. I had a lbz intake and turbo mp. Downpipe, manifolds w/ 4inch exhaust. I would get compliments about the tone. People said it was distinct. I was going to install a ported and polished turbo with a different wheel when I wrecked it.

I can't wait to delete the Powerstroke because they sound pretty good without the dpf filter.

I'm not a fan of the cummins sound. Bunch of guys run them straight pipe around here and its just loud.

Wait until you need head gaskets ....and you will. BIG$$$ Go Cummins

A friend and I worked on the Lb7, LLY and the LBZ's at the dealer when I was their. Those engines really didn't intimidate me. Hell that's why I bought my LLY in the first place lol.

Now the Powerstroke, yea im at the mercy of a Tech on that one.

I can't wait to delete the Powerstroke
"I can't wait to commit a felony". Just saying.....
BUT a 6.7 powerstroke deleted is CRAZY powerful. AND great mileage....Shame all this smog crap is needed.....REALLY hobbles the small diesel engine....

Hell yea brother!! I'm not doing it for the power that just shortens the engines life span. I just want the filter off and some mileage back. I hate having to drive it just to clear the filter.
Every two years here my truck needs to be smogged....

I absolutely hated changing the oil on diesels. No matter how careful I was I always somehow made a mess.

Then after I bought mine I would pay a friend to change it for me.

Then I killed my Duramax and bought a Powerstroke. Which I don't service either because I don't have a drain pan big enough to drain it anyways. I pay a friend at the Chevy house to service it.

I really wasn't a fan of Fords but man this Powerstroke made me a believer. I have zero complains against it. The dpf is annoying though. I get over 20mpg on the highway. In town shows 15ish.
Meh, drive a real diesel. You’ll never go back. Kind of like having a big block Mopar vs a Gimmy 6

I spent almost a year working along side a ford diesel tech. That guy was nuts! He makes a killing in the dealership, work lined up outside waiting for him.

other dealers would send work to this guy. Smart guy.
I send him side work, as long as it has never been in the dealership where he works,he will work on it at home.

Power doesn’t decrease the engines life, the driver does. I used to sled pull and worked for an aftermarket diesel company. A vast majority of engine or driveline issues were a result of drivers doing stupid **** day in and day out. My truck, I built it from stock at 63,000 miles. Dyno tuned and tested to north of 1500 ft lbs at the back tires. I drove it that way for 4.5 years, sold it with 378,000 miles on her. Two weeks before I got rid of it, she dynoed her best pull ever at 1546 ft lbs. only thing I ever broke was the clutch and that was me doing a boosted 35 psi clutch dump on an abandoned air strip not once but three times. Tore out the clutch center. Went to a double disc South Bend set up and never looked back.

I disagree with all this smog crap.
Anti-pollution adds restriction and weight. Causes more fuel to be burned. Creating more smog.
Vicious circle.
Make em efficient, and easy to fix, the hell with the smog.

Quiet day here, all electronic devices off and enjoying ourselves together as a family. Just me, my wife and daughter. Nothing special for food, just a simple meal together around a centerpiece we carved this afternoon to celebrate the real meaning of the day...

Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

The most bullshit thing about those smog systems that the EPA mandated ALL diesels have, it was done at the begging of both Navistar and International, because their V8s just couldn’t meet emissions in 2016 without all that crap. Meanwhile, the 2016 6.7 with the advanced head design was 13 percent UNDER the EPA allowed emissions on average across all parameter, and 27 percent on carbon alone. So Navistar and International lobbied HARD for the EPA to make it across the board simply because they couldn’t compete on the efficiency standards with the 6.7 Cummins. Our test trucks were averaging 25 mpg before they came in and made us install that stupid urine burner. That dropped us to 14 with that one install on our truck.

Ok? My diesels don't do any type of work. Their highway queens. I might have pulled a trailer once or twice with both trucks. Their both more truck than I really need. Hell I might have put the LLY in 4x4 twice. I didn't need it thats why the Powerstroke is 2wd.

I GUARANTY my ford will our pull your cummins.....I am talking real world use.....
I have 22.5 tons of steel we can use as a test sled.... I know my truck will do it with ease. Not sure your aluminum will hold up :poke: :rofl::rofl::rofl:

I’m sorry Tim, you have a nice truck, really. I just have to give ya hell for having luxury truck. I do want your car trailer though. That’s a heck of a nice trailer

I don’t sled pull anymore. But on the farm, we put them to the test. 4x4 is a must. We tow a LOT of weight around. Heaviest was a 22.5 ton armored steel WW2 track
