Anyone gone down this road? With the lack of anything worthwhile on the tube, I’ve been thinking of just getting rid of cable and using the TV for streaming off my phone. Anyone gone this direction?

I use a low cost streaming service and an over the air antenna. Wouldn’t think about paying high dollars for TV again.

I told Dish the same thing and we worked a deal for $75 a month. 2-year contract, but I think I'll go the route you mentioned when it expires.
I like having TCM, Golf, Weather, NHL games and the local news. I used to like most sports until they became a platform for 'change'. Gotta agree with Hemirunner, not much out there worth watching anymore.

We ditched satellite several years ago. Still have hulu and Netflix tho. I never ever watch it the kids use it for cartoons and movies. Very rarely do I watch anything if I do its on my phone.

Amen - im sick of being forced to watch the UNNATURAL commercials etc !
I go to thrift stores and goodwill and buy old movies when I want some tv !

Outdoor antenna, mostly watch the secondary channels like ME TV, and I have a Roku box. No subscription. I just watch the free stuff and mute the annoying commercials.

I dumped the cable when I was on my own again in life, about 7-8 years ago. I did install a good outdoor antenna and then pushed the TV in a corner where it's been ever since, other than 2-3 football games a year (watching my hapless Broncos). I don't miss it at all or even think about it. My sweetie is from New York and watches the Macy's parade so today was the first time I turned it on since February.

Give me a good book any day over the junk on TV.

Frontier quit selling TV service 6 months ago, saving our bandwidth for 500/500 FiOS. We partner with DirectTV or ATT streams for our TV customers. Everything is streams now:

Ktvstreams.com

They got every channel, PPV. Adult...$50 for 6 months.

NFL, NBA, MLB, soccer...you name it. Bootleg as hell but it works.

OTA for local news and 65 free channels now, 26 in English!

Yep I did and my girlfriend just did. She got tired of paying $106 a month for only watching a few shows she likes on Direct TV

Comcast has been sucking over 300$ a month from me with their triple play crap. I need internet for my business and phone for fax but even the premium channels play old movies. Terminator, Die hard etc and rarely have anything worth watching.
Now they are raising their prices again and putting a limit on streaming and I have had about enough!
I have 4 grandkids living here and they all got sucked into PlayStation so bad I had to literally ween them off. I am definitely going to cut that cable line very soon because it has become sickening to have to pay that much for something that we had for free a long time ago.

Hi I'm [Joe Namath, Mike Ditka, etc] and if you're on Medicare this is important! Get the benefits you deserve! It's free!
The saddest part was seeing Sgt. Murtaugh...Deets...Mal doing those commercials.

But yea same thing I do. I keep a crossword in hand for the muted times, which seem to be increasing.

Good for ya!

No commercials for me and only what I want, right now the wife is saturating us with Christmas shows and thats OK with me.

We still have a TV so we can watch an occasional DVD. I lost interest in anything on broadcast TV several years ago.

I haven’t had any satellite of cable in 3-4 years. We have an antenna for my 3 yr old watches PBS kids. It’s been great I don’t miss much besides forensic files and few other shows. No Internet here either.
