Or as Governor McCall said come visit but please don't stay!!... LOL

Cool thread Charles. I lived(for a short stint) in Camlachie, which was close to you I believe. Helped run the water plant for Petrolia. Water plant was actually on shore of Lake Huron and the water was piped approx 15 miles south to Petrolia.

Where we are now, Peterborough lift lock, was worlds largest, not sure if it still is.

Old Lindsay Jail, maximum security. (Jail was spelled gaol way back). Max sentence was "2 years less a day"(provincial jail). Dad worked there until it closed and they opened a "Super Jail".

Beautiful Trent Severn waterway. We are lucky enough to be surrounded by LOTS of lakes and the TSW.

Grew up in Fremont Michigan -10 miles away now. The home of Gerber Baby Food! Went to school with some great grandkids of the founders.

Surf City, USA: Huntington Beach, CA. We gave ourselves that name with Santa Cruz contesting it. Skylab parts were made here. Tustin, CA home of ZP-31 (Zeppelin Patrol) squadron and the LTA base (lighter than air) for WWII patrol blimps for the Navy, was converted to MCAS Tustin for Helos. Hangars are still there, although one got damaged recently but has Historical Building status so they remain.

Niagara Falls US side and CND. side.. living on the border so you can travel between two countries in a few minutes. Best pizza, wings and roast beef on weck on the planet. (IMHO) :) .. Great summers and miserable winters. Bad football (exception this year so far) and hockey teams, but people who support them every year because they are here. Albright/Knox Art gallery ( below) with some of the best art in the country, and a medical corridor that will be one of the biggest on the east coast when completed. Three Dog Night, GOO GOO Dolls, Grover Washington jr. and Rick >MF< James  are from here. A waterfront that is getting more incredible each year and skiing (of course) that is great See it not all about bad snow in Buffalo. :D

Grew up in the suburbs of Eugene Oregon, it's not the same as it once was. Still very beautiful but has probably 50% New growth from California and they brought a lot of their liberal b******* with them to be local is somewhat of an odyssey now, also highest homeless per capita in the United States Eugene Oregon. Track Town USA doesn't quite mean the same thing as it used to!

We average 268 sunny days each year in Tucson, so I can drive my Mopar most any day I want!

Our logo is Sunny Manitoba.
I don't know the moron that adopted that.
It's only sunny one day a week, and I have to work that day.
It's only ever NOT windy on a day that I have to work.
It always rains on the weekends.
But there is a silver lining; Global warming has come to us, and this November has been exceptionally warm, sunny, and precipitation free. So far, this fall has been easy on my heat bill.
Oh yeah, we are the home of Giants; A giant Camel, a giant sturgeon, a giant dinosaur, and the Giant Pumpkin.
They have a weigh-off every year; ever see a 1000 pound Orange squash? I have. I think there was a year, that one showed up so big, they couldn't weigh it locally.
And Manitoba is the Home of 4H.
And somewhere in Southern Manitoba is the geographical center of N.America. Yeah like who figured that out.....
At one time, just a few years ago, I lived here in what is affectionately known as the Bible Belt, cuz, you know, there was a well supported church on nearly every corner. And no bars. and no place to buy alcohol other than rubbing alclhol. But that all changed one day, when a local town reached City status and the Mayor got greedy. He opened the doors to immigration, and all the riff-raff came. It's been downhill ever since. I kid you not.
We have now, walking among us, a fat girl wearing Daisy-Dukes with the azzcheeks cut out of them. Unbelievable!
but I digress......
