Has Anyone Tried This Shifter? Seems Fishy

How do they work. Good I imagine but how do they work? Do they have a gate, are they a ratchet or what?
I think winters have been around longer than the turbo action, at least 40 years. They are a gated shifter, just like the t/a, with a rear entry cable to the trans (keeps it away from header heat.)
Now, let me comment for the record. I had a turbo action in my plymouth and i liked it, it was as solid as a rock, but.... with a reverse body i occasionaly pulled on the lever instead of just tapping it back for second, and got a 1-3 shift. I replaced it with a b&m ratchet, ($200 then, almost $350 now!) and coverted the t/a to a glide shifter and put it in my other racecar. It worked great in a powerglide application. The ratchet can be annoying, but the "1-3 oops "is completely gone.
Edit: the 727/904 winters is $220. Compared to the others out there at $350-550, i'd buy one in a heartbeat if i needed one.
