I've always said while he doesn't have the most fantastic voice quality, there's just something there that cannot be denied. I think he can sing pretty dang good. As for his song writing, how many people would have no musical careers were it not for Willie? A LOT. He's just slap incredible.
Also, another point of note and this is just my opinion, but if I had to make a top ten list of guitarists, he'd be on it. While most might laugh at that, if you do, you've just not listened to him enough. He is a phenomenal guitarist.
