You might not believe this but I actually started playing "Choir Of The Bells" and "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen" on the crunchy electric guitar around the same time I was getting into Savatage in the mid/late 1980's.

I guess they got the telepathic signals I was sending.

(I don't think it came up when I met them in 1987)

I love that stuff! And I got NEWS! Those guys made a BOATLOAD of music for three dudes. All they were most of the time was piano, drums and upright bass. They used some brass on occasion, but not often.
