Where’d you put an A/M tach on an early A-body?

Mounting a aftermarket tach on a ‘65 Dart with a 4-speed. Thinking column in front of the non used cig lighter but I’d like to see other solutions. If column, I’d like to see other suggestions to mount on column slicker than C-clamp without drilling holes.

I have mine on the column (4-spd car) in front of non working factory tach. Painted clamp black so you have to "kinda look" for it to see it. Putting it down low makes you take your eyes off road a bit too much for my comfort.

The ‘65 Dart GoGo I had my senior year in high school (66-67) had a small 120 degree RAC tach mounted on the dash just to right of the left A-pillar. It worked great, and was in the line of sight when you were driving. The tach was in the car when I bought it. The installation was very neat and looked factory, although I’m sure it was probably dealer installed. I found a similar tach on ebay and I’m going to mount it in the same place on the 65 GoGo I’m restoring.

I mounted mine with a thin hose clamp with black wire shrink wrap around it to hide it.

magnetic base?
If a streeter, forget the tach. Just get a standalone shiftlight and a rev-limiter. After the novelty of having a tach wears off, you will hardly ever look at it again.Especially the small short sweeps; the resolution is way too small, and the sweep is too slow. But you can sorta read your cruise rpm.
