Anodizing not off?

Looks great! Its not perfect but, I'm not perfect so it should fit right in. Shoot the amount I've spent on sand paper and other little things I could have paid and had this thing shipped off to be professionally done lol.

Today I did some light sanding with 800, 1000 and 1500 grit...I'm over sanding... then I did some polishing by hand... Im liking it... FYI touching this now instantly gets it dirty lol... its going to suck to tape to paint it...

Any ideas for keeping it a little more clean? Wax? Clear coat?
The problem you'll have later, is that almost anything you use to polish/clean the bare aluminum is going to screw up any paint it touches. Once your done polishing and painting, you might try a good protectant "wax" such as Turtle Wax Ice, which will not harm semi-matte black paint. Actually, it makes it look better. And I think it'll also protect the bare aluminum, at least temporarily.
