Guys, have you ever fabricated your own ignition cables?

Total waste of time making plug wires for a slanter. None of the make yourself kits will have the correct ends that have the spark plug tube seal. AFAIK the only set that has the tube seals on the wires is denso 6716132 about $20.
I already have the correct tube seal spark plug ends (boots) from my current date coded repro set, which I'll re-use. I need new wires because the ones in my current set are too short. The Denso 6716132 kit does not have the correct spark plug boots. It has plastic discs that slide up and down the boot. Many, many sets have these incorrect boots. The only sets that I've ever seen with the correct factory style boots are the repro date coded ones that you can buy from the repro parts guys. Furthermore, ALL of the aftermarket sets that I've tried - all of them - have cables of the wrong length. So no, I don't think making my own cables with the factory correct boots is a total waste of my time.
