beater Bass guitar

Gotta tell you many of these low $$$ import guitars are really good values.

Okay so you dont get Duncan or Lindy Fraylin pickups, swamp ash bodies or high dollar bridges. But for the price they are good.

I had to swallow hard last Christmas as I pulled the trigger on an $89.00 acoustic guitar for my grand daughters boyfriend. Except for cheap paint job the thing plays well and even sounds good.

My late neighbor Dickie always played Epiphones then one day he shows up with some FuManChu Les Paul that had a nice neck, a killer setup and he paid $119.00 delivered. Pulls it out of the case, plugged into my '64 Bandmaster and plays Gimme Three Steps like Gary Rossington was in the room.

I used to be a real guitar snob... Custom Shop Mary Kay Strat witj gold hardware, owned six or seven Memphis built St. Blues Bluesmaster's and a sweet '73 Tele with a one piece ash body.

But no more. My Indonesian Squire Strat and my LP Jr. are all I have left And a woeful Mustang modeling amp.

But I can't knock some of those new imports. And some of the 70's Japanese stuff was really good. I have a 70's Jap Club Date drum kit that is pretty cool, too.

At least with a cheap guitar it doesn't have to go to the machine shop to be fixed before you use it.
