Help Decoding this 8 3/4

No. 44" center on the spring pads means its a b/c body, the a bodys axles will be too short, the backing plates are different, so are the brakes.
You will need matching parts fron a later b-body rear, need to move the spring pads, and a set of custom axles.... or get the housing narrowed to use a-body axles, brakes and backing plates.
Then your next problem will be bolt pattern. That housing, being a b-body has 5 on 4 1/2, your early a-body is 5 on 4"
You will have to decide which pattern you want, and then find custom wheels for the b-body width rear, which is wider than an a, moving the wheels closer to the fender.
Then again, you can always find a proper a-body 8 3/4. They run somewhere from $500-$1500, depending on how complete, and what equipment.

ok thank you! how much do believe I can list this for ?
