I called the mopar performance shop that is closing up in San Diego Ca to ask about some A-body SS springs.

He said they had a pair of used ss a body springs 50 bucks each w/ new shocks... the part # he could only get me the last 4 digits and I could not find springs that matched. The last 4 digits were "2355" anyone know what springs these might be?

Thanks!

Might be for a b body weight.

002 003 are ss hemi a body
There are a couple others , one a for 2800 lbs.. another like 462 463 "3400lb"or something, i have or had one...anyways..they had diff numbers .

Yes the 002/003 are the numbers I always see, never have heard of a 2355 as the last 4 of the part #

I cannot find that number anywhere. And I mean anywhere.

I just finished the installation of these springs. (002/003) straight forward and a slight rake. I believe they are 3000-3200lbs.

price is good if they do the job.

saving $130 isn't worth it if you need to do the job twice. New springs are cheap enough.

Yea total of 100 bucks for SS Springs with calvert or competition engineering shocks to go with them (buyers choice) . Only problem is i don't know the exact part # of the springs and don't live close to go look either.

Too risky without better information from the seller. For all you know their stock springs from a 6 cylinder car. I'd pass on the deal. If the price is a super deal? There is a under lying reason.

I'll call again tomorrow and see if I can get some more information. Here's some pictures of the place. Mopar specialty shop going out of business, owner died I believe? The lady has a bunch of adds up on the Facebook mopar pages. Not much Abody stuff left, mostly b body stuff..

Looks like nice shop. Ask for some measurements. They should be 6 leaf. 5 leaf is just 318 & 6 cyl junk.

I can go look at them if you want me to. I plan on going there tomorrow anyway to look at something else. Let me know.....

Will do. Anything in particular you want to know other than the number of leaves and the length?

I just called asking if they had some ss springs that fit a 1969 dart. He said he had 1 pair used but in great condition. Leaf Springs and torsion bars are the only parts of my suspension that havent been replaced. Figured if they had some at a decent price I'd try to get them.

The guy on the phone said they didn't ha e much A-body, GTS or 340 engine stuff left. that's what I'm always interested in.

Yeah, they were most B and E body big block people. That's where the money was.

Get someone to get a measurement on the springs. Have them measure from the spring center bolt to the front, & from the bolt to the rear. If they are B body springs, they won't work. If you Google the 002 003 springs, it will give you the correct measurements.

May need to swing by on Saturday, wonder if they have any small blocks?
The last time I was there (a few days ago) they still had a 340 engine that's supposed to run (but, I haven't heard it run) same with a '65 273 engine and 904. They also had a 1966 273 core engine that has a bottom end knock. The 340 is kind of a Frankenmotor. I think the block is a '72, but, has a steel crank and 587 casting heads, which I believe are '74-5 360 head without the smog holes. Not sure about what internals it has in the way of cam, valves, and pistons. I remember seeing one 318 steel crank on the shelf....no heads at all I don't think.

Thanks for the info. I picked up my 360 core from Chris a couple of years ago.

prices man, PRICES! Im an hour away if 70% is legit. Looking for some "better than 340" torsion bars for an A.

I don't remember seeing any A-body torsion bars, but, I'll look again. Even if they have some, I doubt they're going to have any #4, #5, or aftermarket super bars.
