Should big blocks go in A bodys?

I don't think it would be embarrassing at all. IF you have a mild 440 in a A-body that runs low 12's and somebody has a wild small block that runs 10's, you lose. Can't let pride stand in the way of owning/building what you want. I guarantee you there are plenty of stock 340's that would get beat by my 318. But what's that mean? Nothing, really

Right. Like my almost stock 400 goin in Vixen. I'm doin it cause I want to. I don't give a **** about what outruns it. It's something I want to do. I have no doubt with HP manifolds, the mild cam, the DP4B intake and "whatever carburetor I choose it'll have close to or right at 1 LB FT per cube. That's some fun stuff in a 2700 pound car with a manual transmission. FUN is what the hobby's all about. Some people forget that trying to fit everything into how they think it oughtta be. I say if somebody doesn't like what I'm doin, pound sand.
