Any Advantage to Having a Dual Point Distributor for Daily Driver?

I just took a Mallory Dual-Point out of my barracuda because it didn't have a vacuum advance can on it. (race only?)
I got a Stock Rebuild from HalifaxHops with a Single-Point setup and it's Waaay better! Starts easy, doesn't miss at idle
and runs like a Striped-Assed-Ape!
I'm curious what the 2nd Later firing point does? I don't see the point. Ha!
