Going to 18" rims questions

Weird as it is, I have 65 Dart, normal /6 with the 225, Sedan....Ive had tons of planning before even starting this ride to fit some 18*8 wheels, mounted on 225/40's ....to make the planning even more tedious-I have some 1" adapters to mount these wheels drilled for Audi/BMW/VW onto what will be 5*4.5" BC.....To my surprise, these wheels (fitment wheels - I should say that are the exact same size as the true shoes going on it) fit without an issue whatsoever....somehow I ended up with a Dart that has tons of space in the wheel wells and the builder is saying this is also one of the first he's seen with that amount of space without being tubbed.....weird ?
