It's real, not a topper. It's an AGM (absorptive glass mat) repro Group 24 battery, date coded ("3K") on the top of the negative terminal. Works great, half the weight of an old fashioned lead acid battery, with none of the acid spillage. Looks exactly like the factory original unit, including the script and shaping on the sides. Love it, highly recommended.
