Bob's Component Resto, Part 15: Decals

Your car looks very nice!
I find it amusing that all of the new decals/stickers are perfectly centered, aligned and/or parallel compared to the originals. The old assemby line workers just kinda slapped them on and went on to the next task. (Note the jacking instructions under the deck lid.) I always find dropped screws, clips, etc. on the floor when I remove carpeting. Gives an insight into the work ethic back then.
Not criticizing, just makes me smile.
Kosmik: One final thought on the workmanship issue. I've heard of guys doing a really high end perfect, original quality resto of a Daytona or Superbird or something like that. They'd put paint overspray on the tires, orange peel the paint under the hood, etc. That's fine, and I'm not knocking them. If I want my car to be factory correct (I do) then you could say that I should have put my repro decals on sideways and sloppily, just like the factory did. Good point. They're right. That would have made it look like a factory installation. But I just cannot bring myself to put that thing on sloppily. I can't. To me, that's just deranged. I want it installed the way the factory worker SHOULD have put it on. But that's just me. (Shows how sick I am!) :)
