ONE PAIR OF '68-'71 340 HEADS BARE HEADS CLEAN BUT WILL NEED A VALVE JOB. I HAVE HAD THESE STORED SINCE THE EARLY 1970'S. THEY WILL NEED A VALVE JOB. THIS HEAD ONLY CAME ON '68 THRU '71

340'S AND THEY CAME WITH THE 2.02 INTAKE VALVE. THE HEAT PORTS HAVE BEEN BLOCKED. HEAD $500.00 FROM TEXAS. PLEASE TEXT 409-795-0644
 
No they haven't but they are clean and if they were cracked it would be visible. The small block heads did not have a cracking problem until the later 70's whey they started making things lighter for emissions . I haven't seen early heads with cracks.

Ports aren't filled, just the passage to heat the intake manifold. They have plastic steel in them, could drill a small hole then knock the rest out with a small chicle. If you want to loose HP and heat the intake.

And whoever would want to do that would have to be crazy. I just wanted to know if it would hold up. These are real nice set of heads. Im considering it. Thanks again.
 
I think it may burn out after a very long time, but I have been blocking the heat for many, many years and have never had one burn out completely, only burn back less than a 1/4" after a long time.., I don't drive on the street though..
Thank you for your interest, I have several sets I going to sell. I have had them since71 to 73 best I remember,
