We all have pet peeves car wise, something that we see at a car show on a car, that bugs us the way it’s done. It could even be in a friends car. What is yours?

I’ll start with two of mine.

When a light doesn’t work. It can be a body light/running light or even a dash/interior light. Bugs me.

another pet peeve of mine on the car is wrong washers/bolts that may be don’t belong I don’t match ( example sheet metal screws)

to be clear I’m Not Numbers matching fanatic, but I do see things on cars it bug me. Share your peeves !!

What bugs me is when people feel compelled to point out the things that are not right on my car. It's like telling me I'm fat, I know I'm fat, I know what's not right on my car.

Long list in my head but I'll just list a few here.
* BLACK engine bay in ANY Mopar that is not painted black on the exterior.
* The core support with NO blackout on every car that isn't black. A guy restores a car and fails to paint the support black, so now you see the body color on the other side of the grille.
* Wrinkles in headliner or upholstery.
* Universal corrugated radiator hoses.
* Corrugated plastic wire loom on the factory wiring.
* Plum Crazy, Sublime and other 1970 and later colors on a 1969 or earlier car.
* Aftermarket gauges stuck under the dash instead of fixing the factory gauges.
* Inconsistent body panel gaps.
* Chevrolet style Cowl hood scoops.
* Back end of the car jacked way up with N-50-15 tires sitting out past the body.
* Those show car posters on an easel with incorrect terms, misspellings and false information. No Mopar ever had a Posi or a Police interceptor engine.
That is all until I come up with more.

Unfortunately, I'm guilty of this, but hope to get to it when I restore the grill. Lol

I Have a big list and not wanting to bore anyone with my pet peeves but!

Remember these cars are owned and maybe loved by the owner. They may not have the resources and cash to do things your way! Don’t knock them and just vote for the car you like! We all started somewhere south of where we wanted to be! It takes time and the almighty $.

Crappy looking wiring. Especially those generic wiring kits where everything is labeled.

I don't have to, Kerndog pointed out EVERY SINGLE ONE!

ME TOO!!!! this is so easy and cheap to fix and look so bad especially with light or bright body colors. I even see it on otherwise beautiful restorations showing in stock classes.

There's lots I'm willing to look past in a car shown as "modified" - If that's the class it's all a matter of personal taste unless it compromises mechanical function. And yes I then rate the car on the basis whether the car fits my own aesthetic sense. No matter how much I try I can't get past metal braided hoses (especially in poor condition or with iffy clamp systems). And yes I admit it - once you get over 17 inch wheels, especially with narrow sidewall tires, i just can't get past it. My usual response is - the best thing about those wheels is it only tales 20 minutes to take them all off...

I love taking any one my classics to a cruise and I park and walk and enjoy seeing what everyone else is doing to their classic. I complement what I like and keep walking on the ones I don’t. I never stay at my ride because every know it all @$$hole will ask me a question just to start running his mouth about his ride instead of wanting to have an intelligent conversation about our classics! If you like what you see tell the person, if you don’t, dummy up and keep walking. Not everybody will spend the baby’s diaper money to put some high dollar high revving crap under the hood and ride through the street sounding like Days of Thunder! Really? That is my pet peave.

Kind of like the placard that reads: Complete "frame off" RESTORATION. No expense spared.
And then it has a Gen III transplant, Tremec 5 speed, and maybe a Franklin quickchange under it... Hey, I appreciate the work that went into it, and the car for what it is... but don't call it a restoration!

Im also guilty of this. My paint guy was supposed to black it out but forgot. Then I forgot and the car got assembled. One of these days I will pull the grill off and black it out correctly.

Black engine bays really bother me. Its worse when the rest of the car is beautiful but the engine bay looks like 1975.
