Hey FABO,
Im looking for info on running a driver side alt on a BB. Brackets and such. I have my ac compressor on the passenger side and am trying to even out the look/ balance of the engine bay. 383 fastback with no power steering and battery in back. I am running new wiring kit that uses a single wire deal. Im happy to make brackets if necessary.

Now modifying a water pump pulley to line up with it all. Still have to figure curved tensioner peice..... but moving along. I think ill try to swoop around bottom of alt to keep it hidden. I haven't installed rad hoses either... so there might be some competition for space there, but it looks like they should clear. Oddly, i can find them, neither can the parts store.

This is great thinking outside the box! How in the world did you weld that pulley back and keep it straight and concentric?

Wellllllll.....we will see. I used the water pump to check the runout. Just set it on there and turned the pump putting the dirty eyeball on it and tapped and tapped until it looked right then tacked it, checked it, and them burned it. It will be a moment before truth as I'm a couple months away from being fully wired to start engine.

tensioner bracket competed. I kind of think its a bit bulky, i was hipping to snake it through the bottom side to moot be so visible but the was limited real estate with the oil filter and lower heater hose, so thus is what i ended up with.

Nice work.
Stupid question: does the ac compressor have a tensioner?

Yes, the bracketry from Buchillion provided that. Spendy bracket, but much better than i could've done.
