1965 Formula S 5800 miles

So...are you inferring there was only one muffler (I assume the special rear resonator) on early '65 F/S cars? If so, I would like know more, because I am restoring an "early" car build date 12-14-1964, and the parts book clearly shows two mufflers, two part numbers, in the breakout for all '65 with 4bbl Power Pack 273. Clarify please, if you can.
Your car was assembled with the early style straight through muffler. Then after the rear end you had a black painted resonator. The early style had a square exhaust outlet with no rounded ends. With complaints from the Police Department (too loud) and people scratched their leg on the edge of the resonator Chrysler stopped the use of the black resonator and added the new style with a stainless steel square tip with rounded end. However they used the left overs of the black painted resonators til mid Februay of 1965 when the new style was used.
