1965 Formula S 5800 miles
Dartcharger, thanks for the feedback. I have an NOS '65 resonator in the box that I plan on using on my '65 FS. I have heard rumors over the years of these painted black but have not been able to pin anything down. When you say "straight through muffler" I assume you mean the muffler before the differential, not the resonator, right? Exactly what does "straight through" mean? A muffler with no baffles inside? Evidently it was not in the parts book because I can find no evidence of it. How about the resonator, was it painted all black? Here is a picture of my NOS piece:
