Yall need to get out and see the Christmas Star. Find the moon and then look pretty much due west. From the moon, it's about on a 45 degree angle down and to the right almost at the horizon. Won't happen again for another 800 years. Jupiter and Saturn line up with each other to create a really bright show. Very cool.

Did anybody get any pictures? We never got to see them fully merged, but they were pretty bright as close as they were.

I would love to get some pictures, but I know so little about my camera I don't know how to get a good one.

i saw it and reflection on lake was bright from my back porch

telescope pic is awesome! I know how hard those are to get. Mirrorless? It looked like 2 from So. Cal at 18:30. Pretty low, just made it over the roof of the neighbors house. I thought they would be a little closer but its still a Christmas miracle.....? Maybe other parts of the world saw it differently. From my vantage point, I could take a drinking straw at arms length and just cover both of them with the tip. But totally seperate. My little 76mm Celestron reflector couldnt even make out the rings or moons tonight it was so low, too much nasty atmosphere around here. I've managed to see them clearly when they were higher in the eastern sky.
