Hey MoPo-Heads!

Got access to a new toy that is begging to have some extra curricular fun. So decided to design and print a mini washer fluid reservoir with integrated hose barb. The cap I'm gonna use a pop off cap from a bottle.... but was thinking of painting it as the resin that i have is white, plus i added the logo which was think about painting too. What do ya think? should I paint the thing?

3D printers are fun. I've been getting back to printing with my Creality Ender 3 Pro. What 3D printer are you using? How are you going to support the top of the bottle and remove the supports afterwards?

using a FormLabs SLA printer. Think for now, will just do my best to remove what i can using whatever tool that will work. The support at attached by 0.5mm rafter. If it doesn't work then I'll print it in two pieces and glue them afterwards.

I used to design components, print, and maintain our department's FormLab printers at my old job. There are definitely pros and cons. I always hated trying to remove the support and sanding the surfaces. What material are you going to plan on using.

Rigid 10k, we have several others but this one is the best suited since it's in the engine bay. Should be done tomorrow morning.

Message me your experience with the printer. We just got ours and are on the learning curve

Update: the part finish printing today. Did a quick test fit and not perfectly lined up and the mounting tabs could be a little lower or will likely update the design so that it fits and lines up better. The part is usable and needs a couple of little standoff to mount and support.

Awesome work! I just sent you a pm.

I like a bottle I can see through, see how much coolant is in it. If you can see through the resin now, maybe tape out a sight glass down one side of it?

amazing! Keep the supports in there...its just a reservoir.

They have a clear and high temp resin that are more clear, but both are very brittle materials.

The supports came out really easy and were just on the inside of the pour sprout. But yeah i had same thoughts if they would be too hard to remove.
