Federal Ammo

Around here, one dollar per pound for 9mm (10 pounds is between 1000 and 1100 cases) about 3.75 per pound for .223 or 5.56 (about 75 cases per pound).

So 1 cent per 9mm case and .5 cent for .223/5.56.

I need some .45 ACP large primer cases. :D
Let me dig through my stash this week sometime, I’ve got probably 25-30 pounds of 45 cases. I need to separate them by primer size at some point

Deal! With that motor I could outrun the zombies... or run them over.... :)
No no, I give someone 9mm, they give me hemi.

See chris here learned a valuable lesson in 2012-2014, the last big ammo run and shortage. I set aside 40 bucks a pay check for ammo. So I’m sitting pretty good. Much to my wife’s dismay as it takes up considerable space. But I stopped buying a year ago when things started inching up in price.

Dang it... lol

during the war, chrysler produced almost all the .45 pistol ammo the us government purchased, roughly 1 billion rounds per year for 3 years. with 7 million new shooters buying 700 million rounds since march, that is equal to wartime output of ammo from the single biggest manufacturer at the time. add to that the rest of shooters stocking up or maintaining their hobby.

What’s spent brass going for these days? I stopped reloading a while back when we moved and I didn’t have room for my reloading bench but am sitting pretty on spent brass, several thousand cases of each. Plus I still have tons of components sealed up.
Depends how much you are buying and who is selling it. Up from a couple years ago but pistol stuff is running .07-.10 cents each and .223 a bit more, at least where I've been looking.

Wait till the gun craze ends and/or the current generation dies off . Guns and ammo will go for pennies on the dollar.

there is a flaw in your logic...at least, i dont see how i, as a member of this current generation are going to be able to buy my own guns for pennies on the dollar after i die

I don't even own a 9mm anymore but figured when a good deal came up, better get it. If nothing else I can help my friends out.

I dont hate guns but there is some unfounded paranoia out there .
just sayin .....
Not true at all. Actually if you look at demographics, the number one age group buying guns right now is the Millennial Generation. They have another 40-50 years of buying power ahead of them as well.

I'm 35, so technically in the millennial generation. I grew up with long rifles, mostly bird and squirrel hunting. Haven't been hunting in 15yrs now.

Never owned a handgun until this year. My great aunt gifted me a Colt 1903 pocket hammerless at the beginning of the year. I've since bought a cheap Taurus G2C, and a few weeks back purchased a Walther PPS M2.

While my newer pistols are very nice, I really enjoy shooting my little Colt 32. Not to mention, the history and nostalgia of it!

Next on my list of pistols to buy is an early military issue Colt 1911 45, and a little Colt 1908 Vest Pocket . For long rifles, Id love to get an M1 Garand 30-06 and a M1 Carbine 30.

Really digging the older military issue weapons!

What a dick way for a President of the company to respond. "I gotta say...I'm TIRED of the hate mail..."

How about, "Hi folks, my name is Not A Dick, President of superduper ammo conglomerate. You know, we're getting a ton of mail about the lack of ammo supply, blah blah blah....I'd like to take a moment to tell you all the things we're doing to try to mitigate this. <Examples> So, when you hear rumors about secret ammo storage, etc., please understand, that's not true. We value your business... blah blah blah. Thanks for supporting superduper ammo conglomerate!"

This guy needs to hire a PR firm. Makes me want to not use his ammo brands any more.

Having worked in the firearms industry for quite some time I will say this up front, it is the distributors who are truly the "dicks" in this as they much like some politicians never waste a good opportunity; meaning they are the ones jacking the prices through the roof as they always do. As to this guy being a "dick", I think he is just being honest.

too bad all mine fell into that lake....
Wow, that is too bad. All of my guns were stolen. I had them in the trunk of my car. I was going to take them all to a gunsmith for a good cleaning and inspection. I stopped to get a bite to eat, and when I came out, my trunk was open and all my guns were gone. What a bummer. There wasn't a lake nearby.

.338 Lapua is damn hard to find right now. Especially since I can’t mail order since I’m in CA. Down to about 20 rounds.

Yeah, and he's laughing all the way to the bank.
