I have this oil pan that looks real close to one that 440 Source says works well for installing BBs into an A body.
What do you think ? Has anyone used one ? Is it any better than any other pan for this swap.

Below,
This is from 440 Source web site

To purchase new oil pans, please refer to our new oil pans page at:

Shown above is our original factory USED "187" oil pan, Chrysler part number 2532186. See the table at the bottom of this page for exact applications, but in general, this pan was used from 1965-71 on "C" body cars with 383's and 440's. These make a great pan for swapping big block's into "A" bodies because of the notch for suspension clearance.

I have a template I made for that oil pan. Print it on 8.5x11" paper, edge to edge or measure the pan width and scale accordingly. Then glue to a piece of sheet metal. Works on 699 and 187 pans also.

Do you remember the correct pick up tube you used?

i had never heard of vans auto before. i looked at their website and they have some interesting parts at good prices. thanks for posting.

I have a thread floating around here somewhere that shows a ton of things they sell. I bought lil red Express mirrors from them. Personally I think they look better then the NOS ones I have.

I ordered from them on the 23rd. Complete order delivered the 24th.........

For real? You need to spend some time there. They have some cool stuff.....some hard to find stuff and their prices aren't bad, either.

The 187 pan uses the straight tube. Check the depth. You can always clearance the baffle. Some good pictures here: Mopar Oil Pans

Spend the cheap dollars and get the repo 893 pan and pickup. Nice piece and baffles are correct! Solid thick unit!

And use the windage tray!

Been running a current MOROSO 7.5 quart pan and windage tray in the fish and it fits and works well. A bit of rub on hard right turns but not really an issue for the last 6 years. I bought the repo 893 and pickup as soon as they came out years ago for future plans. When I find the original grind RR cam to go back in then the 893 will go on. It took years to get on the road, so it has not been a hurry to totally correct it.

Hey, I'm putting a B engine in my '66 Dart. Would you happen to know if that oil pan will work or at least be a good starting point for me?

i don't know what a 66 Dart looks like around the front suspension and k member, however, here are two pics of my 69 383 4 speed Formula S Barracuda showing the factory stock 893 oil pan. maybe these pics will help you.
