Has anyone done this. Can the 74 glass be fitted to the 71 door and quarter. Its for a drag car looking to remove the lexan windows.

The rear quarter glass might be the same. The door glass changed in 73 to the one piece without vent window. 73 was one year only due to the mounting points and regulator. 74+ I believe were all the same.
I dont think the 72 down door would accept the 73+ glass as a bolt in deal. Never tried it so I cant say for sure.

I have worn out lexan hence I don't have the vent windows and window tracks or quarter glass. I just thought maybe i could adapt the 73 or74.

Like I said, wont likely be a bolt in deal but you can probably make it work.

Your car being a drag car, may have later model year doors on it anyway, I don't know of anyone that has done it, but as others have said it may be doable, keep us posted on your progress and what is involved, I'm sure there are others who may have a need or wish to do the same.

In my 72 I have a 71 and a 73 quarter glass, all H/T. That glass it's self is the same. The glass molding changed it 73.

‘74 glass will not work with the ‘71 window track etc. The entire lifting mechanism changed in ‘74. ‘73 was one year only for the glass, no vent window but the older style lift mechanism with some modifications to the hardware.

You’d probably have to change the whole lift mechanism over to the later style. But there are even some differences in the door frame to mount the vent window frame that aren’t there in the later doors.

The quarter glass I haven’t looked into. But the door glass is best kept matched to the year(s) of door it came in. The internal window hardware changed more frequently than the external model changes.
