Most of my engines are stock rotating assemblies. I usually spray about 175 hp shot. I have sprayed as high as 225 on a 170 engine. Yes, I have broken pistons, but stock cast and forged, both. But not because of the piston. Some because of not enough ring gap, some due to detonation. One due to a fuel system problem causing big time lean.
PS: I spin my 170's to about 6800rpm, and my 225 to about 5800rpm.
