R.I.P. and GodSpeed Leslie West of Mountain. Your Feeling and Tone have inspired me to play guitar for my entire life!
Mississippi Queen came out the year that I was born!

Here's a Vid of me rippin' some Miss Queen...
Enjoy!

Hell yeah dude! That was badass!

I was just gonna post about this. Mountain is a band quite a few people have never heard of, sure, some know Mississippi Queen, but not the band.

RIP Leslie.

I have the "Livin on Hard Times" 12" single from the late 1980's.

Mississippi Queen was the one "calssic" my metal band played back then.

Sounded great when either of our singers sang it (shy fat guy that could sing Rob Halford, or Nina Blackwood lookin'n girl that sang King Diamond) although we had to cajole the girl into singing about a girl.

Having your trademark song sill played on the radio is one of the closest things to immortality.

Rock on, Mr. West!

Outstanding!
I noticed the clock on the back wall...I hope you were playing at 3:50PM and not AM.

West has a much larger and impressive catalog than most people realize.
My soap box.
He and Johnny Winter were both at Woodstock.
Neither one was particularly attractive or a social justice symbol.
So who do people remember?
Neither one of them.
But they were much more disciplined musicians.

Owen Coffin
A man with an unfortunate name and an inaccurate movie about him.

But a good song.

RIP Leslie West -

eekvonzipper - that kicked ***! As a life long drummer only two years older, I wish you were closer! We'd just need a bass player! Corky Laing has some serious skills...

Here's Leslie, Corky, and Richie Scarlet performing a badass medley.

In 1975 my cousin gave me a 1973 Mountain greatest hits album and I have owned that album in every style of format, LP, 8-track, Cassette, CD and now digital format. I love their rendition of roll over Beethoven.

RIP brother.

Nicely done good Sir! That had a lot of good music that just did not make it mainstream.

My First Guitar Solo since My Injury in September...
I've had Two Surgeries on my left arm and left wrist since a Crush Injury at work 3 months ago.
I never touch the Fretboard but Hey! It's still a solo. Right?
Enjoy.
