Hi folks, I'm Average Ivan from Denver.
I own a '62 Valiant that I cherish more than a man should love a lump of metal. The car has been my daily driver during the cold months (I have a 99 Miata that needs attention when the sun is shining), and will continue to be as long as I can keep it running. It has some rust and some dings, but for an everyday car, I could not be happier.
I know next to nothing about working on cars, but have gotten lots of information from this site. The interior is now a friendly place to be, but the mechanicals act up from time to time.
Apparently, the engine is somewhat special as it is an aluminum block. This does not mean much to me, but I guess it adds to the cool factor some.

Hello Ivan, welcome to FABO nice Valiant.... when you get the chance give us a pic of the motor, thanks.

Aluminum block? Keep the anti-freeze up to par. Corrosion at the top of the bores was the #1 killer of the aluminum leaning tower of power.

Welcome aboard its great to have you!! I think its safe to say majority of us on here love our heaps of metal more than we should! Lol I love your car 62 is a personal favorite of mine in the valiant and darts! Although the dart wasn't classified as an A body in 62 it is still one of my very favorite darts. But I love them all lol! Looking forward to seeing you around the forums
