hi
I took the convertible top frame off and restored the body . Now its time to reinstall the frame . Can anyone post instructions on how to install and align the top to the windshield header. i checked the manual and it doesnt really say anything about the frame install.
thks

  1. Go to mymopar.com
  2. Go to reference section
  3. Download your years Factory Service Manual.
  4. Go the the section with the instructions to install the top frame

From what I have seen it outlines the frame mounting to the body and the all the adjustments needed to align it.

Check in the 67 manual

There are three bolts and a alignment hole . That just seems to easy. I checked both 67 and 69 manuals (there is no 68). I guess it has to be easy for a assembly line

You might still have marking/scars where the large bolts in quarter panels were. That would get you close to square with the body and side glasses. The header section of the frame is attached with 2 or 3 bolts ( I forget ) in slotted holes on each side. These may be rusted. One of mine was broken off in the hole when I got there. I'm guessing a body tech attempted to fine tune away a wind noise or water leak there after the car was wrecked in that side. There was a hole rusted through the header skin so that may have been what he was after.
I wouldn't put any interior in it but the drivers seat until I took it out and tested for wind noise and water leaks. There are adjustment points to get it as good as OEM. Good luck with it.

We have swapped frames from car to car on our Darts, Le Barons, and Sebring. The bigger deal is making sure the rear curtain is tight. The front will pretty much take care of itself.
