Ok, this isn't a blast thread, but............
I ordered a headliner for my Dart this past March. I was told six to eight weeks, so I set up an appointment to have it installed.
8 months later, nothing, nada. Of course I had to bail on the appointment.
I've been told by a couple friends that they take forever to get product out, but what you get will be spectacular. If that's the case, I don't mind the wait, but I'd really like to get this done soon.
Anyone else deal with SMS and have a similar experience?

I brought from Legendary last month. Took 3 DAYS to ship. It's as nice as the factory ever made. 1972 Dart swinger

SMS is definately top of the line. I am building a 61 bubble top Ventura. They are the only ones that actually make the insignia for the seat upholstery. Slow is not even close to the lead times but I have seen the material and the workmanship, no one else compares

How long did it take you to get your parts?
Legendary would be great, if they sold anything other than black and 2 door.
When I ordered, I was told 6 to 8 weeks. We're on 8 months and no one is answering the phone.

Seven weeks to get the material. Actually legendary is good for Chrysler cars but for out of the ordinary hard to find hard to duplicate SMS is the only vendor that can and will produce. I have an upholsterer that I use and I should have my seats and panels in two weeks. I have used SMS to do the complete job on my Packard Hawk and it turned out much better than original but they told me this time I could look at nine months to a year for them to complete it. But again-THEY ARE GREAT!!! Email is best to contact them

SMS is slow.... But if you want the correct material, they are the only game in town. They did my Barracuda headliner in about 8 weeks, slightly longer than the promised 6, but still not too crazy. They had the correct material though.

I've known guys that have literally waited years for their stuff. They are quite happy when they get the stuff though and will say it is exactly like the factory pieces. With the Corona nonsense, I think it could be a crap shoot for getting anything from any supplier right now.

If you aren't fussy about the material, just about all the headliners that the suppliers sell are made by Acme headliners in Long Beach, CA. I'm not sure if Legendary buys theirs from them also. I've heard it both ways. Acme does not sell directly to the public, so you'll have to buy somewhere else. I've used Stock Interiors for a couple things, and they are on their vendor list, but here's their online vendor list. ALWAYS ask for a sample because online color charts don't tell the true story. Online Vendors

Seeing what I'm seeing, I guess I'll wait it out.
The headliner I need is for a green, 4 door and a highly optioned Dart.
They did send me a sample and that came quickly. I just guess I'd like to see some better communication.
I really don't mind the wait if I get what I need. It's a hobby car and it's not like I depend on it every day.

I’m sure someone somewhere has a complaint but I’m in a lot of different clubs and when you look at the material and workmanship of SMS then compare to others it is like enjoying prime rib at Mission Ranch then ordering prime rib at Dennys

Guess what showed up today!
I haven't opened it, and I won't until it's time to install. Hope it's right!

You have five days-if I were you I would check it out. They are good but mistakes can be made

Yeah, I'd be opening up the package for inspection purposes just because. You waited almost 9 months, the gestation period of a child. LMAO
