Never happen from the factory. My dad had a brand new '68 Formula S 340 and the dual point in that had vacuum advance. My brand new '69 cuda 340 4 speed had a dual point with vacuum advance. My present '69 4 speed cuda 340 with the original motor has it's original dual point with vacuum advance. Your friend is mistaken.
