automatic (push button 727) front seal leak ?

rustytoolss, I'm sorry that I can't answer your question, and hope you don't mind if I sorta hijack your thread, but I've also got a cable-operated pushbutton 727 in my '62 Valiant (got rid of the original A904) that has been leaking from the park cable where it enters the side of the transmission for freakin' ever. The shop that built the transmission was never able to get it to stop leaking there. I am going to get it up on my lift Really Soon Now and go over that sucker like a dog with a bone, until I figure out how to stop the leak. And if I can't make it stop, I was thinking about starting my own thread about it here on FABO, asking for advice. [I've already applied T'Flite Patty's (Pat Blais) repair to the leaking cables themselves (fuel line over the cable from end-to-end, and clamped at both ends), but it's still leaking where the cable enters the trans case.] So how would you feel about continuing this thread, and making it about correcting leaks in cable-shifted 727s and 904s in general? If you like the idea, maybe we should also ask the FABO administrator to move the thread to the transmissions forum.
