Freds 73 Scamp restore on a budget

Super cool fiberglass work Fred! And as you well know the Glen Fargo is a smooth choice! That guy is talented. Let me know when you want to road trip down and see your Boy. You always got a place to crash and a meal and a toddy! Jodi says to tell ya hello.
Got enough to make you a center console if you want one but will cost ya a good drink of some of your scotch.
Going through Fargo on the 30th of this month I think so far and would like to stop and say hi.

Just uncorked. Gonna need something to wash down those steaks!

Watching Whitehouse down myself. Gotta get going on some spaghetti. I use hairspray on my arms when working with fiberglass. It helps. Cant wait to see the console done too.
Never tried hair spray would seem to me that it would make the fiberglass stick even worse.

No. Once it drys its like a shell. Rinse with cold water when done. Keeps the pores closed
Does it come in man cent I'd hate to smell like a girl if a neighbor would stop by. lol
I'll try it I still got a lot to sand and tired of the itching.

Looking really good Fred, excited to see the finished product!
Thanks Randy will wait after the new year to work on it again.
Sure done my fare share of screw ups on it but what the heck live and learn I guess.

He's still doing pretty well thanks, arthritis in his hips is starting to get bad though.
Sure would be nice if our animals lived as long as we do.
Lost a few good friends over the years don't think I could stand to loose another.

Cut the stainless steel today with a primitive tool and going to have to do the same with the angle bends because I have no sheet metal break or shears. Got my fingers crossed and hope I bend it straight to fit.
If not will try again till it fits.
Merry Christmas all....

you should be able to get good bends with that clamped tight to the edge of a heavy piece of steel. i'd be tempted to make it in two pieces. good luck with it
