I have a set of small bolt pattern rally's, I want to put on a 66 barracuda. suggestions on what size tire you can run 14x5.5 wheels. would like to run the widest I can.

thanks

Look on tire rack for fitment, but I have run 215-70-14s on the factory wheels on my GTS and that's about as wide a tire as you want to run on a 5.5" rim. I looked and couldn't find a 60 series that would fit. You can buy small bolt 15" rallyes or turn your wheels into 15s with new shells. That's what I would really recommend. A lot more tire choices in 15s.

I run 205-70's and they look about right. A little thick but makes the 14's fill the well. Ditto on the 15 option. Much larger tire selection but even that is getting smaller.

I have the small bolt pattern rally's on my 66. when I still had the drum brakes on the front I ran 225 70R 14's all the way around with no problems. When I installed my disc brake conversion the 225's rubbed the front fenders on a sharp turn so now I run 215's up there. 225's first 215's second.

The widest 14 inch radial tire they make is a P245/60R14, Coker May make wider ones but I am referring to the ones that you can get through your local tire store....I had those on the rear of my 66 Valiant before I modified it and they fit perfect on my mags. I’m not sure I would put those on a stock 14 inch wheel unless it was a 5.5” wide ones.

I currently have 215/70R-14 on my '65 Formula S with the factory small bolt pattern Rallye wheels. When I purchased the vehicle, the previous owner had used 195/70R-14 on the front and 235/60R-14 on the rear with the same Rallye wheels (see three old photos with the larger tires below).
