If Mecum get’s a hold of the owner, I’ll bet they convince him to sell it just like they did with the family of the Bullitt car, that said they would never sell it too.

I bet Mecum offered to sell the Bullitt Mustang for no commission just for the attention it got for them. I watched that auction with about 10 “car guys” at my work on the computer, so it seemed to work. Some of them had never heard of Mecum before...
The Bullitt Mustang has sold for $3.4 million at a Mecum Auction in Kissimmee, Fla. (With buyers fees included, the total price of the sale jumped to $3.74 million.) The hammer price was the most money ever spent on a Mustang at public auction, beating the previous record of $2.2 million for the 1967 Shelby GT500 Super Snake set at Mecum’s Kissimmee auction in 2019.
