After 10yrs of sitting neglected in my storage garage My Dart front and rear bumpers look like @#@@! They were re-chromed in 2008. Now am at the point I want to go AMD bumpers. How is the chrome plating? How`s the Fit? Are they worth the price? I called a couple Chrome platers in the area. Cost $450 for front and $500 for the rear.

Fair, a little wavy chrome is decent not as nice as the re chrome on my runner. I keep wax on them I dont trust the chrome to the elements.

What ever route you go (and I found AMD's front bumper spot on for my Bee in both shape, thickness and nice chrome) paint the back side of the bumpers to seal them with Tremclad or Rustoleum Silver. Keeps them front rusting through from the back side.

AMD front and rear. Look great .
Maybe a little thinner gauge metal but not by much if so ...
If you are doing a rare collector M-code or such then maybe rechrome stock but for adriver no one will know.

Just got off the phone with TriCity cost was cheaper than the chrome plating here in California. Shipping is the added cost but if the plating is superior to the plating done in California am in.
Try Ogden Chrome here in Utah, they do awesome work and they have free shipping both ways.

Pretty sure any chrome shops in Cali ship to Mexico anyway

Nothing rare just a GTS Dart

I got a set for one of my 70 Darts and they were so nice I went right to AMD on my current project. They are honestly better than any original bumper or rechromed bumper I've bought over 48 years, even the set when I paid extra for a "show quality finish".

That`s awesome, My Duster bumpers so far held up better than my Dart. Both re-chromed in San Jose Ca. But a 4 year difference in time. The shop in San Jose is closed. Am leaning towards AMD and reproduction bumpers.

I have AMD on my 69 that have been on for almost five years now. They still look good. Maybe not the absolute highest quality chrome, but there are no evident flaws. I do my best to keep them clean, dry and keep the staining from the rear exhaust off of them. I don't regret purchasing the AMD bumpers at all.
