727 trans question 62-70.....71 - up ????

-
1971 and up the part throttle kickdown feature was added, you no longer had to floor-it to hit passing gear (downshift).

62-70 had a wider lip seal in the front drum. Also a narrow bushing in the front drum to support the pump. 62-66 also had less splines on the output shaft. 62-64 or so also had a rear pump in them. 71 up uses a narrow seal in the front drum and a wide bushing to support the pump. Kim

Don't go watching that video and come away thinking you learned anything. Too much incorrect info. That guy is no 727 pro whatsoever.

My 727 is a push button in a 62 ply fury. Does anyone know anything about 62's having a rear pump. I've heard of that, but never seen one apart. Is it a big deal ??

pre '65 , 727's have 2 pumps . The bonus is that you can push start them
I pop started my 62 all the time.

I was just under my 62Fury wagon (first time under the car as I just bought it). I knew it would have the Ball&Trunion setup with the cable shift/and park cable unit. But was surprised to see the small speedometer cable housing connection. I was expecting to see the larger adjustable speedo housing (that kind of sucks!)...Bye the way love the pictures of your 62 Dodge !!
