Sorry to ask yet another drive shaft question, but I have searched to no avail. I need the drive shaft length (u-joint center to center) for an early A body manual transmission with slip yoke and 7 1/4 rear end. Thank you.

I have 5 different Mopar Drive shafts and cant find any matches on the dumb mopar charts.

Yeah that's cause most of them don't show measurements from the right place. lol

Dart would be longer than a valiant 63-66 really only 66 used a slip yoke drive shaft and 67 and later are also different because of wheel base.

Well thank you! That narrows it down then. I need the drive shaft length for a 66 Valiant 2 door seeeeedan with a three speed (or 904) and 7 1/4.

Ugh. That's my car, but it's stuck in the garage with a dead battery and no good way to get it in the air for a measurement. Are you in any raging hurry? And my car is a 2-door post of that makes a difference.

I have one I wille slip yoke measure it for you tomorrow.

Also, if you don't mind, if you would measure from center u-joint to center u-joint on the DRIVE SHAFT itself, not the the slip yoke. Thanks.

You can use drive shafts from Dusters, Barracudas and Valiants. As long as you use one from a 4 speed, 904 or 3 speed with the 7 1/4 rear. Should not be hard to find. I ran a 71 340 4 speed drive shaft in my 64 Barracuda for years. I had swapped the 8 3/4 rear in to it.

We have a 65 valiant that had a 170 /6 and 3spd manual. It has a 5.9 and a 904 now. I read somewhere that a 904 sets back the same length. If that's correct, then it's 52.25 (ish). We just measured our car to have a later D/S shortened.

Did anyone ever get a verified measurement? Thanks.
