Good lord engaging some of these halfwits on FB is frustrating, ponderous, taxing, aggravating....mind boggling! For example, I recently listed a truck for sale. Clearly stipulating (after having gotten countless of them beforehand) that I would not respond to is this available messages, or lowball, what’s you best cash today price, or whats the lowest I’d take. Yup, still got many more of those. Then if I did respond that it’s still available......crickets. No questions from a large percentage asking about the condition of the truck, many in broken English, one a guy that said he always wanted one and to call him, that he had a brother that is a mechanic who would be calling me yadda yadda. Just absolute weird bullshit from mongrel dipshits. Thank god through all the muck one guy corresponded like a normal human being and hot damn he showed up with a trailer and bought the damn truck for close to our asking price. Now, I’m trying to get some nimrod that has a stash of vintage aftermarket Mopar parts shown only in pictures to give me an actual list of all thats included in the asking price, what engines they are for but the guy finds it hard to type it all I guess. This isn’t the first time I’ve dealt with this sort of strangeness. What is it about Facebook and some of these dickknobs? :realcrazy::mad::wtf::BangHead:

So you're bitchin about a FREE format that actually got your junk sold. LOL Just messin man. I feel your pain. I see it all the time. I've tried to sell a few things on Facebook, but just gave up. Much like I did here.

Oh I can ***** with the best of ‘em!! Many on Facebook are just bizarre I don’t get it, gotta be some of the same people that watch the “Masked Dancer” or other garbage I guess!

And you'll go through 300 that don't read the ad before the one normal person comes along. I've put a firm price on something and people still send "whats your bottom dollar?" Or they ask whats wrong with something when you post all known issues. I'm always very thankful when something sells lol

Same dumbass crowd as Craigslist. Was selling a Harley on there a few years back and dome jackass text me to explain I must be stoned as the price was so high.. I responded with "thanks for wasting my time texting me with bullshit as it is obvious you are not going to buy it"... The people on CL and FB are the same; 40% scammers, 59% morons and 1% actual humans.

It s still better than dealing with the hoards of A-holes that come to your door and you have to hear them whine like a hurt school girl and ***** that they need to spend *** amount of money on xxxx to make it right to drive, even though it’s priced with issues in mind.... and then head a ridiculous low ball offer.

All part of the sales game folks.........I'll answer an intelligent question on line, but only one. Then I have them call me if they are interested. Weed's out the ****-rats pretty fast.

Sell on Ebay.....no haggle, sure you pay the piper (and get about a billion person market) but you can always get rid of it. Buying is another subject.....

Egag has it's share of "I got screwed" (by ebay and paypal)

I HATE pakebook. Zukerphake couldn't write software if he was bein' tortured by NK. The search feature SUCKS. The message system SUCKS.

How is it any different from Craigslist????

Asshole Bullets.jpg

And another thing! Only on Faceplant do you get these goofball attention seekers who are always “Thinking of selling” or “testing the waters” when they post on whatever group their a part of. Sell the damn thing or get stuffed with all the attention seeking:mad:

I had a Jeep for sale on Craigslist this past summer.
I got so many lowball offers it was unreal.
It got so bad that I had two guys pestering me every few minutes. So, I set up a sale with the same two guys.
I told both of them to meet me at the Red Lobster parking lot.
keaganb and I had a laugh as the texts came in telling me they were looking for me, wanting to know where I was, the realization they had been set up, then the cursing me and posting serious **** talk on facebook and the threats.
Ahhh good times messing with the morons. Sometimes it's just to easy.

You could not pay me enough to have a Facebook account. I have a life, I have hobbies, I have intelligent friends to converse with and I have NO desire to follow (stalk) people I do not actually know. I have NO patience with stupid, moronic people who use Facebook to stalk other people.

Manny be careful there was some one on bookface selling a heap of parts , he had 3or 4 pics no write up on parts listed and a few got taken for a ride . The usual sent the funds but no parts sent.

I agree I hardly ever get on there anymore. I got sick of the bullshit in the mopar groups. Back in the spring/summer when I did my floor pans I posted some pictures on one of the a body groups I got a few positive comments but most of them was just negative and degrading. Like that looks like ****, why not pay someone and have it done right, I wouldn't ride in that, hope you don't value your car or life, etc luckily I don't give a **** what people think haha I just stopped posting my progress on Facebook and I left most of the groups too.

i look at the "i got a problem" ads. mostly no year/make/model, just a problem. the most popular answer to any question on there is "lmc or rock auto has it". do these smf not even look for parts on any web site? and the electrical geniuses on there. boy oh boy. question- "my brake lights don't work". "answer- probably the ballast resistor." looks as if the powers that be let them out for a weekend pass and the smf forgot to show back up to rehab.

Now you’ve really hit the nail on the head! That’s got to be the most irritating thing about some of the groups I’m in, very prevalent in various Dodge truck groups. I get that many people aren’t Dodge/Mopar 24/7 or even into their vehicle as an obsessive hobby, many are just learning or just need ideas. That’s all good, but it’s the goofballs that, as if it’s a default response, say LMC, where it’s obvious they never have looked at LMC’ s offerings for Dodge because anyone would know they got jack!! Yet they post anyway. They don’t have a clue themselves. And it’s always a question about some factory hard part they need. Like you can get every part for a vehicle from LMC or a parts store. I’ve surmised it’s just some weird social media psychological thing where people like to post, to be apart of the action, have something to post and check their phones, to be “ very active and involved” in the social media world, just like that cesspool Twitter. Now that is just plain garbage!

I do not have a fakebook account and I don't use Craigslist. But as to buying parts, I have no problem lowballing a seller with an offer. Most of the time it's rejected but sometimes it isn't. What I detest is haggling. You have something to sell, give me the lowest price you'll take. If it's acceptable to me, I'll buy it, if not, I'll move on. I would doubt that ANY person who complains about people offering less than what is being asked buys a new car and pays sticker.

Facebook is a boil on the *** of society. I think of facebook as a cross between leprosy and chlamydia.
But then my opinion is worthless, because i will never, never, NEVER EVER be on facebook.

FB has some really good Mopar sites, but you are talking FB Marketplace which has seemed to have taken over CL's ad volume.
My method is with ads:
1. Tell them if ad is running it is for sale yet. DO NOT ask IF still for sale!!!
2. Ask them not to ask questions which the answer has already to be found in the text. Maybe read!
3. All other questions will be answered. Best to actually call and discuss so I know you are serious!

99% of the people are idiots, broke, scammers....1% serious buyers!

Any free classified sites seem to bring the crazy out. But you sold it for what you wanted so you have nothing to ***** about.

I'll give another example of why I hate fb groups, there was a member here that was in a bad way and posted about it and created a gofundme. Now im not a rich man by any means im probably not even considered middle class tbh I'm in the poverty class if you go by the "standard" but this man's story touched me and I donated like 20 bucks or something even tho I don't have much I'm not above helping someone out. I can go without 20 bucks for week, anyway I posted and shares this guys story on one of the mopar groups on fb and the comments was absolutely sicking!!! Not one person said you know what let's help this guy out in his time of need, it was all horrible horrible stuff putting the guy down for being in the situation. Not one person stepped up and helped. But on here there was a different member that got ripped off in a ebay deal or something and spent all his money on a part that he needed and we came together and together raised the money and found the part he needed so he could get it!

This is another issue I have with the “process” A seller lists something with a price. That’s obviously his asking, or opening price right? So a buyer calls, or stops by and asks what’s your lowest? The seller listed it at a price. Why in the heck would the seller list a price for something and then throw out a lower price?? That’s negotiating with themselves! The buyer shows up, looks things over, if he’s interested he makes an offer, hopefully an intelligent one, if he’s serious he does, and not a lowball because then the price remains as listed, or is ignored at least by me. Now buyers just do it via texting or email to avoid the in person interaction. It’s bullshit, the process has been bastardized. If you are a buyer you see the price it is then incumbent upon you to either make an offer or pass. Lowball and you just get a seller walking away. Just my opinion but.....

Bug difference between here and a facebook group. A place like here is mostly a closer knot group. Many have been here a long time and kinda know each other. A fb is full of strangers for the most part and who knows who is posting the latest scam.
