my dad's a feb 14th as well , lucky guy gets kiss for his b-day . would be a rip for a kid to just get kiss although , later in life that will be a joy .

was about 80 degrees here today. Cold front coming thru tonight with a little rain maybe since it has been 61 days without rain. We have worst drought in history

75 in North Carolina today. Sunday night the temperature will be in the upper 20's. Winter is coming soon. The bad part is we are having wild fires in the mountains, and the piedmont where I live is having an issue with smoke. I did some work outside of my house today and am having some issues with breathing and tightness in my chest from the smoke.

I just had a new Craftsman given to me, Mirage. Troy Bilt, MTD and Craftsman are the same arent they?
I worked for MTD a few years ago. Yeah they all the same except a change of the name sticker. Made with cheap over seas metal and parts.

Suppose to snow tonight, first snow fall of the year, just a little dusting... When it comes down we call our snow thrower, nephew Tyler. He likes money and I like a clean driveway. He is dependable, made in Canada and doesn't break down. Sometimes he whines a little and just like a snow blower you just have to throw money at him.

Little update
Been about 3 years since it last ran
Put some fresh gas in the tank, pressed the started for about 20 seconds and shes running like a champ again

Hopefully it will be another 3 years before i need to fire it up again

Ariens used to be THE blower, but I've heard even they are diminished, as in, chineseoated.

I just sold "my mistake", also a Searias Crapsman. I now have a bout a 28" old beater Ariens I bought used, 8hp. "On paper" the two machines should have been equals, in fact the Crapsman had 1 more hp.

The Ariens LITERALLY runs circles around the Crapsman. It's main problem is blower and chute design, something that cannot be fixed. The chute on the Ariens is HUGE compared to the POS

This is the crapman, it's finally gone. I took a bath on it, paid about 600, used it little, sold it for 350
I have an old beat up ford lawn tractor 12.5 hp kolher front end and hydrostatic trany are cast iron. Manufactured a nice cab on it. Blower and mower deck are built to be The Last one. Do regular maintenance and fix when needed all bearings and related parts easy to get. Even the hydrostatic drive is made to be rebuilt. Not like mtd sealed can’t change fluid throw away crap. I guess we now live in a world of planned obsolescence.

And what happened to the transmission dip stick on the new cars???????

Ford edge. Has dipstick. No way to drain oil without pulling engine trans and separating the two halves of trans case. But Chevy used same transmission. They have a drain plug....

Why not use a boat engine oil sucker which uses the dipstick hole to engine oil?

I don't remember 'what all' maybe the Monza's? For a year or two not only had no radiator drain, they had no BLOCK drain. You used to could buy freeze plugs with drain cocks to install in those engines.
