Gas pedal throw issue

-
I've ordered 20-7 from summit to see if this centers / levels cable pull . Plan B will be to have my buddy machine me a pin that bolts directly to the carb arm that corrects the issues since the only thing I'm using mopar is the cable so if the pin diameter is same as the eye and I use the right hole for height I'll be good to go .

Some people don't bat an eye at dropping 400, 600, 800 bucks or more for the latest, purtiest, trickest carb on the planet but scoff at a $20 part to make it actually fit and work right on a Mopar. :BangHead:
So I just received 20-7 holley bracket and doesn't fit my setup in no way shape or form ie : carb arm / throttle cable return and mount bracket , similar issue that mikecuda69 had. I have already in my possession hly 20-67 so passed that on to be machined with measurements to give me a straight on centered pull action which I'm going to bolt directly to the carb arm . Will post picture when assembled.

What i did after installing a tunnel ram and not getting full throttle was, i removed the pedal assembly from the firewall and put it in a vise, then removed the pedal, put a pipe over the rod and bent it about 3/4". Put everything back together and now have full throttle.

That's a damn nice looking big block in your Barracuda, and it probably runs better than anything I have. If the gas pedal is still comfortable after raising it 3/4" then great. I will say, though, that it would have been easy enough to get full carb opening with the OEM cable travel. Several possibilities, but lengthening the top levers on the intake bellcranks could have done it. Of course, once they were already made, it was probably easier to bend the gas pedal rod than to modify the upper bellcranks.

Your problem is that fancy machined black bracket for the throttle cable. Looks cool, and at shows spectators will ooh and aah over it, but it interferes with the Holley carb bracket. You could have saved yourself a lot of trouble by using AndyF's high rise throttle cable bracket and the Holley carb bracket. Simple bolt ons that would have lined it all up perfectly.

In my very humble opinion (and I know - who am I?) the factory pedal setup under the dash is designed for maximum comfort as is. Mucking with that by raising the pedal, changing angles or whatever is a Rube Goldberg band-aid. Leave that alone and fix the carb and throttle cable bracket issues to get full throttle travel.

Here are the above brackets on the 413 in my 59 Dodge.

Not sure you can buy those levers in a longer size. I tried everything with the lingcage i could think of to no good outcomes. You only notice the higher pedal first time you drive it. Can longer tell any difference. No big deal and full throttle no problem.

Got the 20-67 holley cable stud machined / redrilled hole for retaining clip. Now assembled, good to go for throw and alignment.
