What is the quickest time you have seen or done with a 3.23 equipped car/truck? A little detail about your combination would be great. Went 13.18 at 108 with 68 340 with LD340 with 3310,1-3/4" headers and DC .484 hyd cam in a 69 Dart,4-speed and 27"slicks. Next time around will be 25.5-26" slicks...will use the 27" tires for the highway.

Shucks.... Do 2.94's count? Went 13.13 with basically stock 360 short block with speedmaster heads, 750 dp backed by a stock 904/stock converter. I have 3.23's I might try in it.

13.37 @102 MPH.

Pretty stock '69 340 with drag radials, 3.23 sure grip, A-727 transmission.

Stock '69 340 X heads, no porting.

Mopar Performance dual plane aluminum intake (copy of the stock '69 cast iron intake) Edelbrock 1405 carb.

Cast iron '69 340 exhaust manifolds with 2.25 inch exhaust

Nice! And a nice little rambler too...

It seems to me a good stroker and 323 should get in the low 12s fairly easily

1969 spec 340 m1 single plane 850 thermoquad 509 purple shaft etc 13.1 in the quarter 323 rear end with 24 and 1/2 in tires

Was a long time ago but I had a 70 Challenger with a 440 that went 12.4's at Bandimere Speedway, elev. 5800, with 3.23's.

Car Craft had an article years ago about that combo in a 66 Coronet that was low twelves...I think it had 3.55 gears and a 9-1/2" convertor. Also, Edelbrock heads. Same combo in an A-body should knock off 3 to 4 tenths.

68 Satellite. 8.5 440, 906s , Torker intake, 750dp, 1/78 headers, 292 Magnum Comp cam, 10 inch GER converter, 3.23s 28x9 M/T ET Drags. 12.35 at 106. Poor ole neglected car needs about a 1000 hrs labor to get it into shape. First pic of the new year.

forphorty, I like your Satellite! That would be a great type of car for my 360...plus a big trunk to haul slicks.

It has a fuel cell in it now. When it had the stock tank in it, I could fit a pair of slicks, a spare tire, tool box and small floor jack in there.

I ran around quite a bit in a '68 Satellite in my younger days..... Love the style! One of my favorite cars of all time...

my 68 came from a neighbor across the street...$200, ran for years. It was a more door with 273 but it was fun!

Saw local valiant sedan weighing around 3400 + driver with a 318 run 12.7's with 3.23 and 225's

Not 3.23's but my mates street/strip Demon with mild 416, 3.55's 10x28's, ported iron J heads, hyd. cam, don't know spec, around 10:1, 3000stall, stock 727 shift kit, ss springs, 750DP, Air-Gap int., best 11.6>11.8's in 1/4...put 4.10's in it and went slower which I told him he would.

This same setup with 430 gears and drag radials with the addition of pinion snubber has done a best of 12. 35.

Several years ago I was at the drag strip and saw a 68 Dart go 6.00 with some insane mph in the 1/8. It didn't leave very hard but flying in the back half. I made my way through the pits and talked to the owner, the car had a 588" aluminum big block with Indy heads, 3.23 gears, it ran on pump gas and was driven to the track. Just looking at the car you'd expect mid-high 7's, no roll bar, stock length rear with 275 MT radials. Very impressive car.

71 Dart, full street trim...full interior, back seat and all. 8.5 360, 904, 3.23. 13.90s. Engine was stock with Crane magic cam, headers, TQ and iron intake and functional hood scoop.
